More Countries Recognize Hezbollah As a Terrorist Group

Slovenia has officially recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization on Monday night, joining 15 other countries on the globe who do so. Other governments in Europe and Latin America, such as Germany and Britain, granted similar recognition to the infamous group.

Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi urges more countries and the European Union to acknowledge that Hezbollah and all of its branches are a terrorist organization. Currently, the European Union only considers Hezbollah’s military wing as a terrorist organization. However, Naim Qassem, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, publicly shared that Hezbollah doesn't have a military and a political wing. He said that the organization operates as one entity without separate parts.

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is spearheading a collaborative effort to put international pressure on Hezbollah. There are sixteen countries that now recognize all branches of Hezbollah as terrorist entities. Recently, the government of Estonia banned Hezbollah members from entering the country. The government of Guatemala also newly recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. In time, more and more countries around the world will hopefully be brave enough to unmask Hezbollah members as "terrorists".
